Commercial activity in Canada is generally subject to PIPEDA. This draft is written with that in mind. Ontario counsel must confirm whether any other statute applies and whether our retention/access language is enough.

What the extension does — and does not — access

  • It reads award-search results only on airline pages you open yourself, in your own browser tab.
  • It never reads, requests, stores, or transmits airline credentials, passwords, loyalty numbers, or payment details.
  • It does not autofill forms, click Buy, or interfere with the airline transaction.
  • This build makes no network requests. Unlock can open the website checkout in a new tab.
  • Last-scan status and a local unlock flag may be stored with Chrome storage on this computer only.

Website check

  • From / To / date / cabin and the points you paste are sent to our awards proxy so we can query the seats.aero Partner API.
  • The seats.aero Partner API key stays on the server. The browser and the extension never see it.
  • If the key is missing or seats.aero is unavailable, the check fails closed. We do not invent awards.
  • We apply origin locks and rate limits so the proxy is not an open relay.

Payments

  • Trip Pass and Pro checkout are processed by Stripe when keys are configured.
  • We receive payment confirmation (and later, webhook events if they are enabled), never your full card number.
  • If Stripe is not configured, checkout returns an honest error and nothing is charged.

Trial and Route Watch

  • The 7-day trial is stored in this browser until an email provider is wired. Optional email is acknowledged, not mailed, until then.
  • Route Watch saves the search you just ran in localStorage. Email alerts are a demo until an ESP is connected.

What we do not sell

We do not sell personal information. We do not build a wall-of-fame from your searches.

Retention and your choices

  • Uninstalling the extension removes locally stored unlock and last-scan data.
  • Clearing site data removes watches and trial state.
  • To ask what we hold after paid checkout is live, email hello@ascendpoints.com. Counsel should add access/correction timelines.

Children

The product is aimed at adults booking award travel. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
